KANG KONG AND SOTONG, CRAB PASTA, BAKED BEEF AND EGGS, WINE CHICKEN SOUP.
This is the kang kong and sotong salad loved by many Malaysians
A popular road side dish, its just as easy to make at home, you'll need
RECIPE.
1 dried sotong( dried squid or cuttle fish)
you have to soak this for a day till its soft.
cut up and boil 1 min. drain.
If using fresh calamaris or squids, cut up and boil in salted water 1 min.
2 bunches of Kang kong( its a water veg, with hollow stem) blanch in hot water.
Layer the kang kong then the squids in a flat dish.
SAUCE.
Pound chilies and Blachan , about 2 tabsp. of this paste.
mix with 2 tablsp. Hoisien sauce, or plum sauce. 2 tablsp hot water.
add sugar, salt, lime jucie , pour over the squids and sprinkle with chopped
fried peanuts and sesame seeds.
Crab pasta.
Fry 1/2 bowl of sliced garlic in 1/4 bowl o. olive.
add cut up crab , add 1/2 cup white wine, simmer till carbs are cooked, if too dry add 1/2 cup water, season to taste with pepper , salt.
In a big pot boil fine pasta in salt water.
When soft, drain, add to crabs, add chopped pasley , mix well , serve with chilie flakes.
This is a easy and simple dish to make for a lazy sunday dinner.
BAKED BEEF AND EGGS
you need.
4 pc. beef fillets, grill and sliced thinly
layer on a flat baking dish.
season with pepper and salt
For a Japanese flavour use Japanese seasoning.
A dash of sesame oil and soy sauce.
crack 4 eggs, bake hot oven till egg yorks are 1/2 cooked, remove,
top with lots of s. onions and toasted sesame seeds.
Serve with steam rice or toast bread.
Wine chicken soup.
Chop up chicken
soak 1 bowl wan yee ( wood fungus)
1/4 bowl sliced ginger into strips.
Fry ginger in sesame oil till brown, add chicken and fungus, fry well add a dash of white wine, a dash of ginger wine,
add enough water to cover chicken, simmer till chicken is cooked,
add 1/4 bowl of dom and more ginger wine, stir, boil, serve.
