Har mee or prawn noodles

Har meen is a hawker's delight and Malaysians' favourite ,
each time we make it is  a bit different because  of how we cook the stock and what type of prawns we get .

black garlic

Black garlic is fermented garlic, supposed to be good for health,
easy to make ,  you need an old rice cooker, and garlic.

 

 This is what  they look like after  3 weeks in the rice cooker.

 These beautifull  looking cup cakes made by my daughter is too pretty to eat!! but everyone had one,  after all the oohs and ahhs, it was indeed time to taste.

Chawan mushi

My first try at making this chawan mushi, turn out very well.

cooking this old favorite "lup lup choy' all the veg, cut into little cubes and stir fried.

Goes well with porridge

Our Easter morning breakfast, scramble eggs ( with cheese and milk), garden salad +tomatoes, bacon. so rewarding , vegs. from the garden!!

White chokos

When I planted 4 green chokos last year, ( they didn't have any chokos last year.) this year is the first season for the chokos and I;m having white chokos!! this is the first time I've seen a white choko!.

Must be the bees, they cross pollinated the flowers, so now I have some white chokos.

Use chokos in the shoyu ramen

In a salad.

Stir fried with salmon, hum choy chilies and chokos.

Autumn, time to pick chokos,

This choko plant just took over the fence .

The plant even climbed up the cherry tree.

This year we had a lot of bees, had a lot of flowers and now heaps of chokos!!
